Get your grillin’ game on with these succulent burgers! Try these low-carb patties without the buns to skip the extra sugar – don't worry, though, you won’t even miss the bread with these delights. This dish yields 6 servings.

Ingredients:

  • Nonstick cooking spray

  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey breast

  • ½ cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs

  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cranberry juice

  • 1 tablespoon spicy ketchup*

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley

  • 1 tablespoon chopped yellow onion

  • 1 tablespoon red bell pepper, minced

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 egg, whisked

  • 1 slice turkey bacon, cooked and chopped

  • 3 ounces reduced-fat cheese (such as mozzarella), chopped

  • ¼cup low-fat mayonnaise

  • Fresh salad greens (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: In large bowl, combine turkey, breadcrumbs, cranberry juice, ketchup, parsley, onion, red pepper, and black pepper. Add egg to the turkey mixture and mix until well blended.

Step 2: Coat grill pan with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Form turkey mixture into 6 burgers; place on grill pan. Grill 6 to 8 minutes per side, until firm in center. Remove from heat.

Step 3: Mix turkey bacon, cheese, cranberries, and mayonnaise; top each burger with 1 to 2 tablespoons of mixture.

Step 4: Return burgers to grill; tent with aluminum foil until topping slightly melts. Serve over salad greens, if desired. Enjoy!

*Tip: To reduce the sodium levels of this recipe, omit the ketchup.
